I'm playing a short set at 6:30 as part of Arts in the Open, a showcase of artists from the Arts, Theater, Dance and Music Departments. The event lasts from 5-7:30pm.
I'll be playing principal viola with the Camerata di Sant'Antonio on Sunday at 7pm.The program features William Alwyn’s rhapsodic Autumn Legend and Sarasate's Romanza Andaluza. After intermission, we top off the evening with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s absolutely gorgeous Souvenir de Florence. Plenty of off-street parking. Admission $22 or by subscription. Free for ages 17 and under or with an Arts Access Pass ( available at https://www.arts-access.org/apply-online ).
Our next gathering is on Sunday September 22nd from 3:30pm-5:30pm at 292 Summer St. Some of the instruments we have available: baby grand piano various stringed instruments (lyres, zithers, types of guitars) lots of hand percussion (djembes, hand drums, shakers, bells etc.) Again we start with tea and snacks and then music making. Bring your instrument, bring a friend, bring $10-15 if you can. All levels are welcome to explore music creatively. The session is facilitated, but there's lots of room to try different things.

Buffalo Creative Music Group is a group founded by Leanne Darling that is dedicated to exploring improvised music as a form of self expression, creating community through music. Using activities inspired by the organization Music for People (https://www.musicforpeople.org/wp/). There will be food and drink beforehand - $10-15 donation suggested to cover costs. We'll explore melody, rhythmic feel, ensemble playing and exploration of styles and harmonies using simple fun exercises and forms. Lots of jamming and musical fun will be had by all!
